Fresh Pesto

If you have a garden, plant lots of basil.  Make a lot of Pesto Sauce and freeze it for the winter.  Gracie had a secret ingredient not many people use in Pesto.

Ingredients
  • 2 ½ cups fresh basil from the garden
  • Bunch of fresh parsley from the garden
  • ¾ cup of olive oil (more if needed)
  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of butter (secret ingredient)
  • 4 to 5 healthy cloves of garlic
  • ¾ cup of pine nuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients except the olive oil in a food processor and mix, adding the oil during this process. Mix until the pesto is creamy. Pine nuts are optional but can be expensive and you need to watch out for people with peanut a
